Great music can be composed with just about anything, even an instrument *meant* for drumming duties. What I have found out during the course of making the Elektron sound-pack and this EP is that the "drum machine" descriptor does it no justice. To call this device simply a drum machine is like calling a smart-phone "just" a the thing on which you talk to other people.

The seven tracks created on the Elektron Analog RYTM drum-machine, using altered sounds from my official Elektron sound-pack, "SYNTHETICS," available on Elektron.se. 100% Analog RYTM, no external efx, some editing and minor EQ-ing.

When Elektron approached me to design some sounds for an upcoming AR sound-pack, I was happy to do it! Of course, I wanted to demonstrate some of the sounds, but playing single drum-hits doesn't give any context. This is an EP of my work and also a demonstration of what one could do with these sounds and machine.

A very cold album that brings me a lot of comfort. A balance of melancholy and upbeat are found throughout, while keeping a desolate atmosphere that I love every bit of. My favorite release from ilkae (Also outfox is a banger!) nicolas :)
